Here is how I come about forming a Spell.
1. Determine the spells goal. (What you are wanting.)
2. Determine elements involved. (ex: Love = Fire.)
3. Determine materials to be used. (ex: love spell, rose petals, rose quartz, ect...)
4. Determine approiate time. (Day/night. Waxing/Wanning moons.)
5. Compose rythme or words of power. (If you cannot rythme well, you can say anything as long as you have an opening, middle and an ending.)
6. Draft the spell in writing.
7. Finalize the spell. (add anything that you feel is needed.)
8. Gather your tools. (the spell, items needed, ect...)
9. Preform the Spell.

make sure that the spell means something to you. in my experience it will work better if it's something you can connect to.

well there really is no point to working a spell unless it pertains to you in some manner, so that would be sort of a given wouldn't it? Though it does not have to affect you directly to pertain to you. For instance, if you are working a spell of ecomagic, then though it may not affect your yard, or your flowers, it does affect nature in general. Those work every bit as well as those created for any more personal reasons.
