This is perhaps the most simple of forms. It is also used most frequently with other techniques. Color can enhance, as well as completely alter/or change mood and emotions. This is a fact also identified scientifically. It can be used to represent the goal of your work. For instance, Red is most usually associated with Love and Passion. Thus the use of red candles in most love spells that can be found.
Black is basically the absense of both light and color. Thus usually used to banish negativity. It is most often associated as the color of the Goddess in her Crone form.
Brown promotes the healing of the Earth, symbolizes the hearth and home and is associated with the animal kingdom. Brown candles can be used to blend several intentions in a ritual.
Gold/Yellow represent vitality, strenght and rejuveniation. Used to promote physical healing, hope and happiness (explains why we all love the sunshiny days ) Can also be used for protection. Relates to the Sun Gods and the Element of Air.
Green belongs to Venus and promotes love, fertility, beauty, and most obvious, prosperity and wealth. (didn't you always wonder why money is green?) Associates with Earth in its guise of the Green Man and with the Great Mother in her nurturing form.
Orange is also a healing color-particularly used with relationships. Also used in legal matters. It often relates to childhood and emotional stability.
Pink is the color associated with the Goddess as Maiden and signifies friendship, love, fidelity and the healing of emotions. Also innocence and creativity.
Purple,Indigo and Violet are "royal" colors, therefore we associate them with wisdom and vision, dignity. Used in promotion of psychic and mental healing. Representative of the Goddess also in Crone(Wise Woman) and the God as King.

Sky Blue/ Blues signify communication between people and between the realms. It is best used, therefore, in meditations, for study and learning. Burn a Blue candle to help remove writer's block for example. Associated with Water.
