Shiva is one of my favorite Hindu Gods. sivasakti.com/articles/tantra/shiva-art98.htmlDon't be mislead by the God of Destruction. Read the story it's quite beautiful. I know him as the God of Transformation. Much like the Death Tarot Card, it's a period of transformation. Not literal death. Of course, if we really wanted to get deep we could say death in itself is another form of transformation. Another one of my favorite mantras is Om Namah Shivayah Pronounced Om Na-mah Shee- vi(long i) ya According toThomas Ashley-Farrand Om Namah Shivaya has no approximate translation. The sounds related directly to the principles which govern each of the first six chakras on the spine...Earth, water, fire, air, ether. Notice that this does not refer to the chakras themselves which have a different set of seed sounds, but rather the principles which govern those chakras in their place.
This mantra will start one out on the path of subtle development of spiritual attainments. It is the beginning on the path of Siddha Yoga, or the Yoga of Perfection of the Divine Vehicle.
I like it, it makes me feel really on high. Bright Blessings to ya.
