Okay, I love cleansing(smudging) with White Sage. What I have been getting in the habit of doing is taking a sage wand and do the banishment of the earth pentagram all around my house, it seems to be working for me. I do it all around the house before I do any kind of ritual. Or if I'm basically in a bad mood I use it on me, esp. after a bad day at work. Before I even talk to anyone. LOL... It cleanses my aura, kinda like sifting out the negative energies. When I have a headache or certain pains I actually smudge those areas too. Usually when I get a new item, like a stone that I recently purchased and it's been handle by several different people. I use it on candles, my tarot cards, feathers, you name it I use sage for it. You can also smudge with cedar, lavender, and many other herbs, even tobacco. I don't think smoking a cigarette works tho. Sorry. Now do you guys use a feather? I never really used one. If ya'll want to add more, please do, I'm up for info.

Well, are you going to grow your own?
I never made one but they look rather simple. Just dry your plants... I generally dry plants by hanging them, tied together, upside down from the ceiling, until they are dried.
And mine looks like it's bound by a cotton thread.
Whacha think? I think it's pretty natural. I wonder if you can grow sage in Kentucky, if that the right region.

Cotton strings, I think I may misunderstand your question.
I love my baby wand smudge sticks.
The big ones are so expensive, like 8 dollars a wand. Sheesh. That's more than what I spend on my hormones. LOL
