Merry Meet all! I have been studying as a solitary for almost 2 years now. I am interested in herbal lore and candle magick presently. I am currently inrolled at Witchschool.com to earn my First Degree. I'm 43 years old, 2 dogs, 4 fish aquariums, a husband of 15 years and a tarantula named Oracle. I live in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan and am becoming involved with a group here called the FEDERATION OF CIRCLES AND SOLITARIES, the main goal is to raise money to buy land for pagans to worship without harrassment from the public and to make the public more educated and more tolerant of nature based religions. This is a group composed of covens and solitaries!

mm I too am new to the world of Majik. I have been a Catholic all of my life. I borrowed a book from the local library from Marian Singer titled "The Everything Book - Wicca". (I believe that is the title). I have always been afraid of witches and witchcraft and/or the Wicca religion, because I, along with many practicing Catholics, believed that it was Satanism. I think I have realized that, after reading Ms. Singer's book, that I was mistaken. Witchcraft and the Wicca religion can be good. Of course, there can be evil in all religions, but from what I have read, especially the ethics of Wicca and the "three times" theory, that all spells must be carefully thought through and must have the option of being "for the good of all." And, I have read about the invocation for the sacred circle, and the center includes a prayer to the Great Spirit or Ancient One. This appears to me to also be for the good of all. In any case, I also have an impressionable pre-teen daughter who is interested in the craft as well, so I must tread carefully. Just a note for William: my daughter and her father are also of Cherokee descent, and her father has been trying to research his heritage and why he feels so strongly about certain issues. I believe he is a descendant of the "Wolf" Clan. I have told him a little bit about Wicca, and he too is interested. We live in Southern Ohio. bb Cat45385

Small world, Cat, i live in northern kentucky. I have a preteen daughter too who is interested in my path. I just let her take in things once ive learned them and wait for her to ask questions as i dont want to force it on her. My best advice is to let her learn with you. Thats how i do it with my daughter and thus i can monitor what she is learning and how. Great to have you here.

Hey, Violet here. After being a witch for 4 years and staying almost completely in the broom closet, i figured, it was time 2 find other witches. neways, junior in highschool (senior in 10 days; i can make it!) and currently recuperating from a greuling semester. after playing Tuptim in "The King & I," being concertmaster in the orchestra, making dance company, costarring in "Witness For the Prosecution" in evening theater company, and playing 1st violin in a string quartet, i'm tired. note 2 self: don't do 2 many fine arts at once. course, i'm not taking my own advice and auditioned and was accepted 4 a rather intense summer orchestra which may kill me, fun as it is. but i digress. fantasy freak, by the way. lord of the rings, harry potter, artemis fowl, wheel of time, all that great stuff. and i luv classic rock. listening 2 sgt. pepper's lonely heart's club band album by the beatles as we speak. so that's me in a nutshell. basically. yeah
