To Nudge Someone to Contact you.

In African-American hoodoo, there is a belief that the use of black candle tobacco (twist tobacco, not flaked) is efficacious in this regard. Folks may soak it in whiskey then sprinkle a bit of the liquid and the tobacco in their mail box to draw a letter; on their phone to draw a call, or, i guess, on their computer (carefully) to draw email or ims.

AntiDepression working
I thought that I would share with everyone a working that I put together to help with the transient "breakaway" depression feelings that I get from time to time. I will disclaim that I am more comfortable with a fair number of props; your mileage may vary.
{RANT ON} NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS AS A SUBSTITUTE NOR A REPLACEMENT FOR ANY MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY RECEIVING. I CANNOT STRESS HIGHLY ENOUGH THAT THIS SHOULD BE USED (at the very most) ONLY AS A SUPPLEMENT.
As a sufferer of major depression, I can sympathize with anyone trying to "fix" their condition, particularly if they have been told that they will most likely be on prescription medicine for the rest of their life. I am still coming to terms with this myself. Please do not give up any medical or psychological treatment without first discussing it with whomever is prescribing/delivering it. {RANT OFF}
First, as always, gather your materials. You'll need:
A yellow candle (white is always a valid substitute). I would choose a good height pillar candle that does not have so large a diameter that it will not burn down the edges as the wick burns down.
Some kind of pointy device to inscribe letters onto the candle. Even a toothpick (or several) will do.
Oil to annoint the candle. I prefer a pleasant smelling carrier oil to which I can add essential oils. I find that massage oils make great carriers. To this I added Bergamot and Melissa for their anti-depressant properties, Cedar for grounding, and Grapefruit to address mental exhaustion. Cinnamon can also be used, but only very sparingly, as it can really irritate the skin (when you are annointing the candle). A lot of the floral scents are typically good for mood elevation as well. Make sure that you formulate an overall pleasing scent.
Something comfortable for meditation; I use a large throw pillow to kneal upon.
Whatever normal altar/circle props you use.
Here is how I perform the working. It is best to do during the waning moon, but depression does not necessarily follow the courses of the moon... Another warning: If your symptoms of depression are strong at this time, or you EVER are experiencing suicidal feelings, seek professional help instead.
Cast the circle and set up sacred space.
Invite the Lady and Lord to witness and lend support.
This next step requires care... Project as much of your depression as you feel comfortable (we do NOT want to bring on a depressive episode) into the candle and inscribe the word DEPRESSION on it as many times as will fit legibly. I personally inscribe along the length starting a little ways from the base and inscribing toward the wick end. (My loving and supportive wife keeps poking me and telling me to add that this is not intended to be a Wiccan pun.)
Annoint the candle with your oil. Visualize the oil helping the candle absorb your depression symptoms and that it will help the candle burn them away.
Light the candle and get into a comfortable meditation position. Visualize and FEEL the depression being burned/melted away.
After a suitable time, bring yourself back from meditation. Thank the Lady and Lord for their observation/participation.
You may or may not want to extinguish the candle at this time; I prefer to allow it to burn for longer (up high, where the 5 year old and the cats cannot get to it). Always be careful with burning materials, especially if you also have other, particularly little and/or free-spirited, entities running about.
Don't forget to ground yourself, close out your sacred space, and dismiss the circle.
Do not use this candle for any other purpose. If you do not burn it down all the way in this session, you can reannoint and use it (for this) again. If you do not plan on reusing whatever bits remain, dispose of them properly (consider the remains to be toxic).
