I hope someone can assist me with this dream, because I desparately need help. 1. I have never had a dream like this before. 2. It has a definite, distinct meaning, and I need answers SOON! I have two familiars, who are black cats. The one male cat sleeps at the head of the bed next to me. Last night I had a dream. I was mixing potions and other "goodies". I went out of the room to check on something else, and came back within a couple of minutes. When I came back, my male cat was standing over the cauldron, putting other ingredients into the cauldron and chanting over it. I saw him, and knew it was him because of the "look" he always gives me (i.e. when he wants to be petted, or let in or fed....), however, he was in a spirit form. His ears were a bare outline, and he had fur, but he was also standing upright and in the shape of a male semi-? human form. I looked at him and said "Midnight!" Get out of my potions. He looked at me and left from the side of the caudron. This scenario played the same for at least two more times (i.e. I leave the room, I come back and he is messing with my potions, etc.) During this period of time, he says NOTHING, just looks at me and leaves my stuff alone. The fourth time I am really frustrated when I come into the room because he is not listening to me. I yell at him...MIDNITE, why won't you leave my potions alone!!!!!! He turns, gives me his look, and in a deep, male, English sounding voice he says...."You are not doing it right...." Then he "dismisses" me and turns back to my cauldron to continue mixing. I shrug my shoulders and leave the room. Considering I am only starting out in spells, etc. What could this dream possibly mean? Can you really communicate like this? Was he trying to tell me I'm on the wrong "path"? or should I take it literally meaning I'm not doing the spells right? PLEASE HELP!!!

wow your dreams are as strange as mine i think it is possible that it could be a route of communication between you and 'midnight' but i think it is more likley to be a concern of fear on your part. As cats are a symbol of independance and wisdom Maybe what your dream is trying to tell you is to trust your instincts a little more and listen to your 'innerself' so to speak . Think about what was going on in your life at the time? that will help. i wouldnt worry about doing things wrong thats how you learn. Hope this helped a little if not ask Jadedsage she is great with dreams, BB xxx Amanda xxxx

Excellent response Amanda. Here's my efforts to add to yours: Animals in our dreams represent the instinctive sides of our natures, each meaning something different. Generally speaking, cats can represent a number of things. Usually they are associated with our feminine sides, and are indicative of the positive and creative sides of our psyche.
In mythos cats are associated as a symbol of Mother Earth and represent the power and wisdom of nature. The aggresiveness/persistance of the cat in the dream also plays a part in its interpretations.
So here goes -- I would say that Amanda has a good start on it. The dream is definately idicative of your own fears. Especially in light of the way you asked for help here. You question yourself too much. Though I don't think the dream really has to do with your spell work, I do think it has to do with your fears of whether or not you made the correct choice in following the Craft. Midnight's aggressiveness/persistance in the dream could signify the questions you have in your mind of the validity of your choice to be a witch or wiccan. It can also be interpreted as an indicator of your higher self telling you to be more confident in yourself. Believe that you have made the correct choices, be it with your chosen path, or even with your spell work. Again, Amanda's words fit well here....
Hope we helped you here, Moonswimmer. Do feel free to contact me if you want or need.
Bless'd Be, and once again..good job Amanda!

From what that dream sounds to me. Is that you simply may worry that you are not practicing the craft correctly. And to have your cat help you, could signify that you are looking for someone that you like and trust to guide and teach you the ways of the craft. Also the desire to share your knowledge and learnings with another person. Just be more confident in your workings. Study and learn. ;D *my interprtation.* summerBoi

sounds like you need to listen harder to hear your spirit guide and trust to me.your not hearing your guide you keep turning your back .since the cat can symbolize independence and power,by listening harder you may be able to move on to a higher level in your craft.
